Measurement Needs for Metamaterials Innovation and Manufacturing workshop – 6th November 2025

Metamaterials have become a fast-growing topic of interest to both industry and academia, with a wide range of new technologies and techniques being developed and published. However, if these are to reach exploitation it is vital to know exactly what their limits of performance are, and how much more they might be improved. This is particularly important for any product that is developed: without properly measured targets, how can you prove that your offerings are of consistent quality?
This is the challenge that the National Physical Laboratory (NPL) wish to address in a one-day meeting on the 6th November, bringing together stakeholders from industry, academia and government to determine current and future measurement needs in the metamaterials field.
